In August 2014, Llandysul a Phont Tyweli Ymlaen Cyf were secured £245,644 of funding from the Big Lottery, People and Places grant funding to deliver a project that provides two fully accessible 13 & 16 seat minibuses, which are based in Carmarthen and Llanelli. The minibuses are available to groups / organisations to provide access to essential community services, which promote community activity, social inclusion, community cohesion, regeneration, rural health, well-being, and recovery from mental health problems. The Committee members have given many hours to help achieve this funding and very much appreciate the support from  CAVO, WWAMH and the WCVA

The purpose of our project is to expand our existing Community Transport Scheme into Carmarthenshire enabling rurally isolated people, including older people, and those with disabilities and mental health issues to access transport to activities and services.  New volunteer opportunities will be developed with the delivery of MiDAS training for volunteer drivers.

The project employed a fulltime member of staff that has develop the community transport scheme in Carmarthenshire to community groups and to recruit and co-ordinate volunteer drivers.
