Our Final Event of Volunteers' Week!
05/06/2026
Today marked our final Volunteers’ Week event, and what a fantastic way to bring the week to a close!
Hosted at Parc Dewi Sant in Carmarthen, the event was another successful collaboration between Llandysul a Phont Tyweli Ymlaen (LPY), Dolen Teifi, and CAVS.
The event welcomed a wide range of third-sector organisations that work tirelessly to recruit and support volunteers who help deliver essential services across our communities. Volunteers had the opportunity to enjoy and take part in a variety of activities, including keep fit sessions, choir performances, bushcraft, and Lindy Hop dancing.
A special thank you goes to Cefin Campbell MS, Welsh Government Deputy Minister for Skills and Education, for taking the time to meet with Dolen Teifi and discuss the importance of community transport and the incredible contribution volunteers make every day. It was encouraging to talk about both the challenges and opportunities facing community transport in rural Wales and to hear his support for the sector, along with his recognition of the vital role volunteers play in helping people remain connected, independent, and engaged within their communities.
It was also a real pleasure to catch up with Professor Philip Kloer, Chief Executive of Hywel Dda University Health Board. Strong partnerships and positive conversations like these help ensure that people across West Wales continue to receive the support they need.
As Volunteers’ Week comes to an end for another year, we would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all our volunteers, partners, and supporters. The time, commitment, and kindness you give make a genuine difference to people’s lives every single day.
I would also like to offer a special thank you to all the staff at LPY and Dolen Teifi for the hard work they have put in throughout the week. A tremendous amount of effort takes place behind the scenes to organise and deliver events like these, and their dedication and commitment have been outstanding.
Thank you as well to our volunteer drivers, directors, volunteers, and the many partners we have worked alongside this week. Your support, dedication, and willingness to work together help make a real difference to communities across West Wales every day.
Thank you all — your efforts are truly appreciated.
We look forward to doing it all again next year!
