VOLUNTEERS WEEK
Volunteers' Day Celebration at Parc Dewi Sant 4th June 2026It was another successful and enjoyable Volunteers' Day, celebrated with a garden party at Parc Dewi Sant in Carmarthen. The event was a wonderful partnership between Llandysul a Phont-Tyweli Ymlaen, Dolen Teifi, and Parc Dewi Sant, which brought together volunteers from both organisations.
The garden party was held in the beautiful vegetable garden, a thriving space that has been lovingly developed and maintained by the volunteers of Parc Dewi Sant. Their hard work and commitment have transformed the area into a welcoming and productive community garden that everyone could enjoy.
Despite a few showers throughout the day, spirits remained high as volunteers took part in a variety of activities designed to help them relax, have fun, and celebrate their achievements. Entertainment included the uplifting sounds of a ukulele band performing popular songs from the 1960s, while Lindy Hop dancers delighted everyone with their energetic and colourful routines.
Volunteers enjoyed a range of hands-on activities, including the Go Sport Rifle Range, a bushcraft workshop where participants learned how to create cord bracelets from stinging nettles, wellbeing event and gardening activities such as planting seeds and pyrography, where personalised plant labels were made followed by a delicious lunch provided from Parc Dewi Sant canteen.
As a token of appreciation, every volunteer received a special thank you gift bag containing a trophy, pens, and notebooks. These gifts recognised the dedication, enthusiasm, and valuable contributions that volunteers make to both organisations throughout the year. The day was a fitting celebration of the incredible work carried out by volunteers. Their time, energy, and commitment make a real difference to their communities, and Volunteers' Day provided a wonderful opportunity to thank them for all they do.
